Over the past few weeks we have been focusing on the book 'The Little Black Princess,' which has provided us with insights to Bett-bett's life. Today we will begin to look at a few significant events that took place and effected the Indigenous culture. Today we will be working independently to become experts on 6 key events selected including,

- 1788: James Cook
- Mid 1800's to 1930: The Stolen Generation
- 1937 to 1960: Assimilation Policy (Aboriginal People were expected to live like white people, and to adopt white ways and language)
- 1960: Integration (Allowed Aboriginal people to choose how they would go about assimilation)
- 1990: Land Rights (Eddie Mabo)
- 2008: Sorry Speech
